What Is E-Learning?

What Is E-Learning?

Good morning,

e-learning has become very popular due to the various lockdowns in the Netherlands and in many other countries in the world. And when something becomes popular, suddenly a lot of ‘experts’ jump on it, who confuse all kinds of concepts.

So what is e-learning really?

The ‘e’ in e-learning stands for an electronic component; the internet and / or associated technology, such as a desktop, smartphone, laptop or tablet.

Watch:

Online e-learning and offline/stand alone e-elearning.

There are actually two types of e-elearning:

1) learn online on the Internet in different ways including online coaching and

2) you can do e-learning offline by, for example, watching Tutorials (one of the 5 interaction models within e-learning) in the form of mp4 videos. Or you can listen to MP3 files in the form of an audiobook or podcast on your desktop or laptop.

And you can combine online and offline e-learning of course in your instructional design.
